Dr. Ahmet Savaşan, President of the Health Tourism Council, signed new agreements at the World Tourism Fair (WTM London), attended by more than 50 thousand tourism professionals from 182 countries.

According to the statement made by the Council; It was reported that Dr. Ahmet Savaşan, who participated in the 40th World Tourism Fair (WTM) held this year, came together with many country representatives and signed new agreements to send Health Tourists from Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East regions to Northern Cyprus.

Dr. Ahmet Savaşan said that they participated in the fairs held all over the world together with sector representatives under the umbrella of the TRNC Ministry of Tourism and Environment in order to promote the humanitarian, touristic, historical, cultural and sportive richness of Northern Cyprus in general and health tourism opportunities in particular and to create opportunities for more qualified tourists to be sent to the country. “As the council, our aim is to diversify tourism and spread the income throughout the country,” he said.

Agreements with the Netherlands, Russia and the US

Pointing out that they had the opportunity to establish cooperation with many new countries by taking advantage of the international identity of the Cyprus Health Tourism Council, Ahmet Savaşan emphasized that they had very productive meetings with representatives of countries including the UK, Azerbaijan, Germany, England, Georgia, China, Spain, the Netherlands, Bulgaria, Russia and the USA.

Stating that they have signed new agreements for Northern Cyprus to get the share it deserves from the World Tourism Fair, which creates a business volume of 3 billion pounds, Savaşan said, ’Our goal is to double our health tourism revenues in 2020.
